Le Banc Coat Rack

Oilfield Slang by Manufab

  • Le Banc Coat Rack, French for The Bench, is an entryway must have, exhibiting traits of old French Industrial factory finds. Hang up your bags, purses, coats, hats and have a seat to take off your shoes on a piece of New Orleans Historic 17th Century Bargeboard.

Unfamiliar with Bargeboard? Well, after the Louisiana Purchase flatboat barges were a cheap way to transport newcomers and goods by floating down current by way of the Mighty Mississippi. Once docked, boats were dismantled and barge board was sold for lumber to build homes in the rapidly growing Crescent City. Many barge board houses still stand today in and around the French Quarter.
